Parked in the car park (through an archway) halfway down the road to wards Ribchester Bridge, then a party of 12 walked back up the road to the second track on the right. Followed this to Catteral farm.
Continued along a track just to the left of the white farmhouse, leading to Lower Madgell Bank farm, which was a collection of farm buildings with one wooden cottage and the River Ribble beyond.
At barns on the left and right, turned right to walk up a faint path to an opening. Had to search for it.
Followed a rough path across open land, just above the boundary hedge on the left, and through a field to a galvanised kissing gate. Continued through the second field to a track at a gate.
Climbed up to Waterside House then along the track eventually back to the main road. Left back to the cars.
