The Society met at the Cricket ground, then a party of 19 set off by crossing the Goit and looking down the waters for wildlife, and picked up a Dipper on the return journey.
Walked to the right down the valley as far as a gate on the right, then returned via a muddy track.
A male Redstart was seen briefly high in a tree.
There was no sign of the illusive Cuckoo, but to compensate, it was a beautiful spring evening.
